We weren’t overly optimistic about a wireless skipping rope, but it turns out there’s a lot to be said about the concept, and in any case this version by eStore comes with a full rope should you wish to skip the conventional way.

Essentially two mini ropes with balls on the end attached to two handles, one with a digital screen, it doesn’t take long to get used to the wireless jumping rope.

Set-up and use is fairly intuitive, and it’s easy to keep track of your number of jumps and calories burned according to your weight via the screen readout.

The main benefit is that you can use the wireless jumping rope in places where a traditional skipping rope just wouldn’t be practical, and you don’t have to worry about damaging it on abrasive surfaces. No rope also means no rope whips, no potential damage to surrounding objects and no tangles. It’s actually quite liberating not having to be spatially aware during your workout.

As well as a full rope, the kit also comes with a spare lithium battery and a mini screwdriver for battery replacement. The counter is accurate, build quality is reassuringly solid and small nodules on the handles make them easy to grip.
